Apple Card

Here's a quick card I made for my Boyfriend's brother for his Birthday. He's a huge Apple fan, so I decided to make him a card incorporating the Apple logo. The photo doesn't bring up the colours that well, but the apples are red and the card is a lime green. Hope you all like it. :D

Apple Card

I used a lime green card as my base card. Using a sheet of Apple logo stickers I laid a piece of scrap paper over the top and shaded over it using a lead pencil until I could clearly see the outline of the apples. I then went over the outline of the apples using a lead pencil. Next I cut the apples out and traced around them onto the back of a piece of red paper. I then cut the apples out (and put the leaves aside) and glued them together so they overlapped. Then I glued the apples and leaves onto a piece of pale green striped paper and trimmed around the edges. I then glued it onto the card. Lastly I glued some fluorescent foam letters to the apples to spell out "Happy B'day". :D

Christmas Stocking Card

Here's my 3rd and final entry in this week's Willow Sketchie Challenge. Phew, made it just in time. ;) Again I decided on another Christmas card, as Christmas is very quickly approaching us. Hope you all like it. :D

Christmas Stocking Card

Again I used a red textured card as my base card, I then cut a square out of gold paper slightly smaller than the card itself and glued it to the card. Next I cut a slightly smaller square out of green textured card and glued it to the card. Again I cut a slightly smaller square out of Christmas patterned paper and glued it to the card. I then cut 2 small rectangles and 1 small square out of gold paper. I made red "Santa", "is", "coming" sentiments in Photoshop, printed them, trimmed around them and glued them to the rectangles and square. I then glued the rectangles and square down the right side of my card.

For the image element I made a Christmas stocking. Firstly I sketched a stocking shape onto a scrap of paper, I then cut it out of red textured card. Next I layered and glued a variety of Christmas ribbons across the stocking. I also folded the ends of the ribbon over the back of the stocking and glued them down. For the final touch to the stocking I glued 3 white Pom poms across the top of it. I then cut a rectangle out of gold paper and glued it to the left side of my card. Lastly I glued the stocking to the gold rectangle.

Once again I had great time making this card, and I would like to thank all of the DT from Willow Sketchie Challenge for a fantastic prize for this week's challenge as well as a great sketch. Good luck to all that enter. :D

A Spot Of Gardening Christmas Card

Well has been a busy few days for me, but I have finally managed to take some time out to finish my 2nd entry in this week's Willow Sketchie Challenge. Am hoping to have the 3rd card done tomorrow. Once again I have used the Willow "A Spot Of Gardening" digi stamp that I won in their challenge 2 weeks ago, although I have made a slight twist to it, hope the willow DT don't mind. Hope you all like it. :D

A Spot Of Gardening Christmas Card

I used a red textured card as my base card, I then made a red and white polka dot paper which I cut  a square out of slightly smaller than my base card and then I glued it to the center of my base card. Next I cut a square slightly smaller than the red and white polka dot paper out of dark green textured card and I then once again glued this to the center of the card. Lastly I cut another slightly smaller square out of a green and white polka dot paper I made and also glued this to the card. I cut 3 rectangles out of red textured card and made a "Merry" and "Christmas" sentiment which I glued to 2 of the rectangles. I glued 2 paper flower embellishments to the 3rd rectangle. I then glued the rectangles down the right side of the card.

For my "A Spot Of Gardening" digi I decided to make it as Christmasy looking as possible. Once again I coloured it in using Photoshop, and trimmed around the image. I made a little santa hat for Winnie by cutting the shape out of red foil card, I then glued on a white pom pom and used cotton wool for the fluffy trimming. I cut her dress out of dark green textured card and again glued cotton wool on for the trimming. I also glued cotton wool onto the top of her boots. I replaced the shovel in Winnie's hand for a candy cane, which I made out of red foil card and white paper strips. I then glued all of these onto the digi. I cut a rectangle out of red foil card and attached Winnie to it, and then glued it onto the left side of the card.

Once again it has been a blast making this card, and I would like to thank all of the DT from Willow Sketchie Challenge for such a lovely digi and a great sketch. Good luck to all that enter. :D

A Spot Of Gardening Thank You Card

This week's Willow Sketchie Challenge prize is a big one, so I have decided to enter it the maximum 3 times. Here is my first entry which I made last night. I used the Willow "A Spot Of Gardening" digi stamp that I won in their challenge 2 weeks ago. Hope you all like it. :D

A Spot Of Gardening Thank You Card

I used a white card as my base card, and cut a square of purple paper slightly smaller than the card itself and glued it to the card. Next I cut a square of pink polka dot paper slightly smaller than the purple square and glued it to the purple square. Lastly I cut a piece of Grace Taylor large flower paper slightly smaller than the polka dot paper, and glued it to the polka dot paper.

The new Grace Taylor range of papers comes with a smaller print of some of the designs in the pack, so I decided to use both versions of this gorgeous flower print for my card.

As I have not yet got myself a set of markers, I chose to colour in the "A Spot Of Gardening" digi in Photoshop. I then printed it out, I also printed out a copy of the original uncoloured digi. Using the original uncoloured digi I cut out the skirt to use as a template, I then turned it over and glued it to the back of my Grace Taylor smaller flower paper. I let it dry and then cut  around the template, so that I had a skirt that now had a flower print on it. Next I glued the skirt onto the digi, and then trimmed around the digi itself. Lastly I cut a rectangle out of purple paper, glued the digi to it and then glued it to the left side of my card.

For the small rectangle elements down the right side of the card, I cut 3 rectangles out of purple paper and glued each to the card. I then made a flower embellishment for the middle rectangle using a blue paper flower, a pink flower which I cut out of the Grace Taylor small flower paper and a purple flower diamontie. I then glued it to the middle rectangle and left to dry. For the other 2 rectangles I made a "Thank" and "You" sentiment on the computer, printed them out and cut around them and then glued them onto the rectangles.

I had a lot of fun making this card, and I would like to thank all of the DT from Willow Sketchie Challenge for such a lovely digi and a great sketch. Good luck to all that enter. :D

White Christmas Card

This is the card that I made tonight for my entry in the Polka Doodles White Out Challenge. This is the first Polka Doodles challenge I have entered, and I would like to say thank you to my good friend Donna for sending me the link. :-* Is also the first non sketch challenge I have done. Hope you all like it. :D

White Christmas Card

I used a white textured card as my base card. I cut a rectangle 1cm smaller than the card out of A4 printer paper, which I then scrunched up several times, then smoothed out and flattened under a book. This gave my paper a scrunched effect, I then glued it onto the white base card. I glued a piece of lace approximately 1/2 the way down and across the card. I then stuck a stick on pearl to each corner of the white scrunched rectangle. I made a green "Merry Christmas" sentiment, which I glued to the bottom of the scrunched paper.

To make the tree I first drew a rough sketch of it on a scrap piece of paper, I then cut it out of green craft foam. I then traced around the foam tree onto a piece of white card, and cut it out. I then trimmed a couple of millimeters off all the edges of the white card tree, so that it was slightly smaller than the foam tree. Next I glued the white card tree to the center of the foam tree. I then applied glitter glue to the tree (to give the impression of tinsel) and stuck on some sticky diamonties and pearls (For baubles). I then made an angel for the top of the tree...

First I cut a semi-circle out of A4 printer paper, and covered it in lace. I then rolled it over to create a cone shape and glued it together. I used cotton wool for her hair, which I stuck a stick on pearl to for her face. Next I stuck the back of her hair to the back of her cone body. I then drew a face on the pearl using a black marker. Next I made a little halo out of beading wire and stuck it to the top of her head. I then cut her wings out of vellum, and applied glitter glue around the edges as well as to her lace dress. Once dry I glued the wings to her back and then glued her to the top of the tree. I then glued the tree to the card.

I had so much fun making the tree and angel, and I would like to thank Enfys from Polka Doodles for a fun challenge. Good luck to all that enter. :D

Reindeer Card

I made this card as my entry into this weeks Willow Sketchie Challenge. Another Christmas card for my card box, at this rate I should have enough to give all my family and friends for Christmas. Hope you all like it. :D

Reindeer Card

I used a plain white card as my base card, and cut a square out of polka dot Christmas patterned paper slightly smaller than the card itself. I then cut a rectangle out of star Christmas patterned paper, which I glued down the left side of the polka dot paper. I cut 2 green glitter star border stickers to the length of the width of the polka dot paper. I then stuck them across the polka dot paper (one above the other, with the flat edges meeting) about 2/3 of the way down. Next I glued a dark green ribbon over the top of where the border edges met. I then glued the Polka dot paper to the card itself.

This time for my image element I made a reindeer out of buttons. I used a large brown button for his head, and cut a small brown button in half for his ears. For his red nose I used a red heart shaped diamontie, which I glued along with 2 googly eyes to the large brown button. I glued the head onto a rectangle of green foil card, and then positioned and glued 1 ear to either side of his head. His antlers were a bit trickier, so I thought I'd give you a more detailed how to pic...

For the antlers you could just use thick gauge beading wire, but I thought it looked a bit plain for this particular card, so I decided to jazz it up a bit. I used brown imitation thonging and thin gauge copper toned beading wire. I wound the beading wire around the end of the thonging several times and crimped it so that the beading wire didn't slide off the thonging. Next I simply held the beading wire in 1 hand and twisted the thonging in the other, this then caused the beading wire to wrap around the thonging. I did this until I had the length I required for the piece of antler, I then wrapped the beading wire around the end of the thonging several times and crimped it once again. I repeated this another 3 times for each antler piece (4 in total, 2 long and 2 shorter). I then bent the pieces into a nice curvy shape, and holding near the bottom of a pair (1 long and 1 shorter) I wrapped beading wire around the bottom of them to hold them together, and then repeated for the other pair.

I then glued them onto the green foil rectangle at the top of the button head. I then used double sided foam tape to attach the green rectangle to the card. Lastly I made a circle Merry Christmas sentiment, which I glued onto a circle of red foil card and then attached to the card also using double sided foam tape.

I really enjoyed making the reindeer, and I would like to thank Anne-Marie from Willow Sketchie Challenge for an awesome sketch. Good luck to all that enter. :D

Snowman Card

Here's my card for this week's Willow Sketchie Challenge. Thought I'd make another Christmas card. Hope you all like it. :D

Snowman Card

For this card I used a plain white base card, which I covered in blue and white polka dot paper. I glued a white material snowflake embellishment to the left side of the card. For my sentiment I used one of my Free Merry Christmas Snowflake Sentiments, which I glued to the top right of the card.

I used a silver and blue snowflake ribbon across my card. I threaded silver cord through 2 white buttons and glued them onto the ribbon.

Lastly for the image element I made a little snowman out of 2 white buttons (1 slightly smaller than the other). I made a scarf for the snowman out of blue ribbon and glued it to the top of the larger button and left to dry. I glued a small orange button (for a carrot nose) and 2 googly eyes onto the smaller button and also left to dry. Once both were dry I cut a rectangle out of silver foil card and glued the larger button to it. I attached the smaller button (or head) to the silver foil rectangle with foam double sided tape (to lift it up a bit so it was inline with the larger button). I put dabs of glitter glue around the silver foil rectangle and left to dry. Once dry I attached the silver rectangle to the card with double sided foam tape.

I had a lot of fun making the little snowman, and I would like to thank Clairebears from Willow Sketchie Challenge for such a great sketch. Good luck to all that enter. :D

Christmas Tree Card

I made this card tonight for this week's Willow Sketchie Challenge. Thought seeing as Christmas is quickly approaching us that I would make a Christmas card for this week's challenge. Plus the sketch and DT cards inspired me to do so. ;) Hope you all like it. :D

Christmas Tree Card

For this card I used a red textured card as my base card. I then cut 2 rectangles out of Christmas Patterned Paper and attached them to the card. I made a "Merry Christmas" sentiment which I glued to the bottom right of the card. For the star elements I used gold wooden stars, which I attached with double sided foam tape.

As per usual with me, when it comes to the image element I like to think outside of the box. ;) So for this I made a little Christmas Tree, using little triangles which I cut out of green n white Polka Dot paper. I made little cones out of the triangles, and glued it at the back where the edges met. I then turned them back over n pressed down on them with my finger to create a diamond sort of shape. Then I simply layered them inside each other, gluing as I went. I cut the trunk out of gold paper and glued it to the back of the tree. I then glued the tree to a white paper square, which I then glued to a slightly larger green foil card square. I then attached it to the card using double sided foam tape. Lastly I finished it off by running some glitter glue around the edge of the white paper square.

I had so much fun coming up with the idea of the little tree and creating it, I would like to thank Claire from Willow Sketchie Challenge for such a fun sketch, and also the DT for such great inspiration. Good luck to all that enter. :D
