All I Want For Christmas Is You Card
I used a white card as my base card and then covered the front with a free Candy Cane striped paper from Free Digital Scrapbooking. Next I cut my 2 mirrors out of silver mirror card and glued one each side of the card. I then stuck a red and white heart ribbon across the center of the card. I stuck a red glitter heart sticker to the top left and bottom right corners of my card.
I enlarged and printed a Popeye Wong image (won't post the link here, as some are for 18+ only) and printed it on white card. As she had a rather short skirt in the original image, I decided to make her a nice long flowing one, which I cut out of red and white polka dot paper. I then glued a piece of white fluffy fibre to the bottom of the skirt to give it a nice fluffy trimming. I made a red "All I want for Christmas is you" sentiment in Photoshop, printed it on white card and then trimmed around it. I then stamped the lips onto a piece of white card using red ink, and trimmed around it too. I cut a rectangle out of white card and glued the Popeye Wong image down the right side and the sentiment and lips down the left. Lastly I matted the white rectangle onto a piece of red foil card and then attached it to the card using double sided foam tape.
Although it was a relatively easy card to make, I had fun coming up with the idea of a way for the recipient to become a part of the card. I would like to thank Pauline from Willow Sketchie Challenge for a great sketch. Sorry I didn't have more time to make a big wow card Pauline, it's coming into that hectic Season again. ;) Good luck to all that enter :D

ReplyDeleteThanks Pauline :-* And thanks for a great sketch :-* I had a super busy week this week (and a lot of very late nights), so I had to make it a relatively easy card... But you know me I still had to add that little twist somewhere ;) He's already seen it, and thinks it's great... But I didn't tell him it was for him... And by Christmas he will have forgotten all about it ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lindsay :-* The colour scheme was decided by the image (as it was precoloured) and the theme... Nothing says "love" more than red ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Hazel :-* Glad you like it :D
