All I Want For Christmas Is You Card

Finally got round to finishing my entry for this week's Willow Sketchie Challenge. After much thought (and not much time to do it in, as has been a busy week again) I decided to make the 2 parallel rectangles that go down the card into a mirror and put a sexy Christmasy girl on the front, with an 'All I want for Christmas is you' sentiment, that way the recipient (my boyfriend) will see them self on the mirror card, and hence they become part of the card. ;) Hope you all like it. :D

All I Want For Christmas Is You Card

I used a white card as my base card and then covered the front with a free Candy Cane striped paper from Free Digital Scrapbooking. Next I cut my 2 mirrors out of silver mirror card and glued one each side of the card. I then stuck a red and white heart ribbon across the center of the card. I stuck a red glitter heart sticker to the top left and bottom right corners of my card.

I enlarged and printed a Popeye Wong image (won't post the link here, as some are for 18+ only) and printed it on white card. As she had a rather short skirt in the original image, I decided to make her a nice long flowing one, which I cut out of red and white polka dot paper. I then glued a piece of white fluffy fibre to the bottom of the skirt to give it a nice fluffy trimming. I made a red "All I want for Christmas is you" sentiment in Photoshop, printed it on white card and then trimmed around it. I then stamped the lips onto a piece of white card using red ink, and trimmed around it too. I cut a rectangle out of white card and glued the Popeye Wong image down the right side and the sentiment and lips down the left. Lastly I matted the white rectangle onto a piece of red foil card and then attached it to the card using double sided foam tape.

Although it was a relatively easy card to make, I had fun coming up with the idea of a way for the recipient to become a part of the card. I would like to thank Pauline from Willow Sketchie Challenge for a great sketch. Sorry I didn't have more time to make a big wow card Pauline, it's coming into that hectic Season again. ;) Good luck to all that enter :D

  8. Thanks Pauline :-* And thanks for a great sketch :-* I had a super busy week this week (and a lot of very late nights), so I had to make it a relatively easy card... But you know me I still had to add that little twist somewhere ;) He's already seen it, and thinks it's great... But I didn't tell him it was for him... And by Christmas he will have forgotten all about it ;)

  9. Thanks Lindsay :-* The colour scheme was decided by the image (as it was precoloured) and the theme... Nothing says "love" more than red ;)

Thanks Hazel :-* Glad you like it :D
